This backpack is somewhat compact from the outside, but don't let that fool you. You can fit so much inside! I used it as a purse when my husband had a doctor's appt. Wallet, paperback, keys, sunglasses, the book i keep notes summarizing his medical history - all in, plenty of room left. I only used one pocket for a soda bottle in one side. It wasn't too heavy, which is very important to me.

I gave this as a gift to my teenager. They loved it. The front pocket especially to put in current book they are reading seems to be a favorite feature.
